Introducing...Our Ragdolls

Anna.
This beautiful girl above is the sole reason I fell in love with the Ragdoll breed of cats. I was on a hunt for a kitten at the time, when my mom called me to say someone at work was giving away her 2 year old Ragdoll. My first thought was, "what's a Ragdoll?" To me (at the time) it was a purebred cat that looked sorta Siamese. I went to visit her, and all though she was timid, I fell immediately in love. I brought her home and the love was instant. She was MY cat, and she let everyone know it. She followed me everywhere. She sat outside every closed door waiting for me. She greeted me at the front door every time I came home. She slept on my chest and played with my hair. This is the Ragdoll personality, I quickly learned. In March of 2009, Anna passed away unexpectedly, at only 5 years old. She was a stoic little girl- we had no clue anything was wrong, and she had greeted me at the door 15 minutes earlier. I was a sobbing mess for the days to follow...but, there was another little guy that was born into a horrible situation (that very month), who would find his way into our lives...

Ace.
He was found in an abandoned, foreclosed home by a rescue shelter at roughly 7-8 weeks old. He was rescued with his mom and brother. The picture above was the day he got home. He cried for nearly 2 1/2 hours (he loathes car rides) and was exhausted. He literally passed out cold for over 3 hours, and gave me the hands down-most adorable kitten pictures ever. I won't go into much more detail about him, because he will be the attention-whore of this entire blog. He wouldn't have it any other way.

Sailor.

After we had Ace for a while, he just wasn't having it living alone with us (no other cats to pick on). He started to take it out on me. The attention seeking measures he took were nearly driving me insane, so I begged for another cat. Two months later, I found Sailor. He was rescued by the Morrison County Humane Society from a cat hoarder. I went to pick one of the 3 Ragdoll mixes rescued, and Sailor jumped into the cat carrier as soon as I set it down. Meant to be!

The vets will always tell you to give your cats about a week or two of seperation to "warm up" to each other. I had a feeling when I got Sailor that it wasn't necessary. They took one evening to "warm up"...and then the next day this happened all day:
This blog is going to chronicle the complete and utter awesomeness of these boys. My Facebook page is getting too much of it lately.
